I am passionate about many things – music, hiking, Netflix – but I today I am focusing on my passion for skin care. In college, I would run into my roommates room to show her my newest products, shove them in her face and talk endlessly about the newest skin trend. My love has only grown with time.

I have the complexion of a prune; dry, red, and makes you want to run. Yesterday, a friend said something to me that will forever mark this period of my life as a success. “Laura, every time I see you, your skin is glowing. I’m surprised you have dry skin, you look so squishable.”

That is a sentence I never thought I would hear! And I know for a fact that it is all due to the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator. Long name, but also long lasting moisture power! I have been using this everyday for almost a year and my skin has completely transformed. There are a couple other products that have helped but I’ll save them for later, if anyone is interested.

I was recently given a sample of L’Occitaine’s Divine Lotion and Cream. I thought, Oh, I’m into high end moisturizers now so this will be a special treat. Nope – their essential oils broke me out and turned me into a tomato again. But at least that experience helped ingrain in me my love for Clinique.

Next up on my To Try list: Glossier’s Perfecting Skin Tint.

  1. I’ve been using Clinique since I was in high school and friends would give me crap for using “old lady” skincare! Shows how much they knew, bc my mom has used it for years and she has amazing skin! Also, I’ve never had a reaction to Clinique – and I switch between their lotion and gel depending on how dry or oily my skin is!
